About Us

Michael has been practising optometry for 30 years since graduating from the University of NSW with a Bachelor of Optometry degree in 1988.

In 2018, Michael obtained a Diploma of Ocular Therapeutics from UNSW allowing him to be actively involved in the co- management of ocular diseases such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetes related/ Retinal diseases. He has completed training to become a CASA credentialed optometrist. He is highly experienced in advanced contact lens fitting and myopia control with a specific interest in Orthokeratology.

Michael is bilingual and can conduct his examinations in both fluent Greek and English.

Michael is an avid rugby league fan and enjoys watching his team play every season. He also enjoys nature and loves going on scenery walks with his family.

Maria graduated from the University of NSW in 1988 with a Bachelor of Optometry (Class 1 Honours) and has been practising since 1992.

Maria has a special interest in Children’s Vision and is always updating her knowledge in the treatment of Dry Eyes.

In 2019, Maria obtained a Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics from the Australian College of Optometry to become a therapeutically endorsed optometrist. She has also completed training to become CASA credentialed optometrist.
Maria is bilingual and can conduct her examinations in both fluent Greek and English.

Maria enjoys going on hikes and scenery walks during her days off. She is also an avid reader and always updates her knowledge with the latest clinical papers on her days off.

Vivian has worked as an optical assistant at the practice while studying since 2015, before graduating from the University of NSW with a Bachelor’s degree in Vision Science and Master of Clinical Optometry. She has experience in different clinical settings and demographics, having done placements regionally and interstate at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Vivian’s clinical interests include Ocular pathology, Dry Eye treatment and Myopia control. She is therapeutically endorsed to prescribe medicated eye drops for ocular conditions including glaucoma and is a CASA credentialed optometrist.

Vivian likes staying active and usually does multiple dance and fitness classes on her days off. She also has a love for food and cooking and likes exploring different cuisines.

Vivian is multilingual and can conduct her examinations in Chinese, English and Vietnamese.

Peter is a Senior Optical Dispenser and mechanic who has been working for ICON Eyewear since the 90s. Peter is highly experienced in the mechanics of optical lenses and oversees all jobs that come in and out of our lens laboratory. He ensures that every lens is of the highest standards.

In addition to working at ICON, Peter has also worked as part of the NSW Rural Optometrist Team, providing high quality healthcare to those in need.

Peter enjoys swimming during his spare time and loves a good physical challenge.

Peter is bilingual and can communicate in fluent Greek and English.

Jerry is a senior optical dispenser. He started his career in the optical industry as a customer service consultant in 2003 and received his dispensing qualifications in 2005. Jerry has been working for ICON for more than a decade.

Jerry is very passionate about optical lenses and strives to provide the best products and services to his customers. His duties include frame styling, helping patients select appropriate lenses for their spectacles and overseeing all jobs coming in and out of our lens laboratory.

Jerry has a love for gardening and enjoys riding his motorbike in his spare time. He is fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.

Linh graduated in 2004 and worked in a general eye surgery practice as a qualified Orthoptist before moving to ICON in 2007.

In addition to dispensing and conducting preliminary testings, Linh is also in charge of front desk work and prides herself in providing quality customer service. Linh is experienced in the utilisation of our diagnostic tools and usually helps our optometrists in conducting OCT, OPTOS and Visual Fields scans for our patients.

On her days off, Linh likes working on her arts and crafts, making personalised tokens and keepsakes for her family and friends.

She is also fluent in English and Vietnamese and enjoys working with children.

Alex is currently in the fourth year of his optometry degree and has been working for ICON since 2018. You will normally see Alex helping our optometrists with preliminary scans and testing as well as frame styling and triaging phone calls.

Sue is in the final year of her degree to become a qualified optometrist. Sue’s responsibilities include triaging phone calls, conducting preliminary scans and tests for our patients as well as reception duties.

She also has a keen eye for fashion and will help you pick the perfect frame.
